James Auto has worked as tutor and supervisor of the Postgraduate Diploma in Child Health & Masters Program in Paediatrics offered by University of Papua New Guinea in the Solomon Islands. James was teacher in UNI CEF Pacific’s Emergency Obstetrics & Newborn Care (EmONC) program; and CEO and Head of Paediatrics National Referral Hospital, Honiara, Solomon Islands from 2003 to 2011. James did an Honorary Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney, Australia and completed both the Postgraduate Paediatric Masters Degree and the Undergraduate MBBS Degree through University of Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby General Hospital and Goroka Base Hospital, Papua New Guinea. He was awarded an Australian Leadership Fellowship in 2009 at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and The University of Sydney. Between 2001 – 2009 James has undertaken short courses in Neonatal Intensive Care, Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Taiwan; Paediatric Intensive Care, Dana Children’s Hospital and Wolffson Hospital, Tel Aviv University, Israel; Management of Severe Malaria, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand; Infant Feeding, Breastfeeding Practice and Policy Course, Centre for International Child Health, University of London, UK
