Open Access Policy

Overview

Our Dermatology Online is a fully open access journal.

All articles published in the journal are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription, registration, or embargo.

The journal provides unrestricted access to its content in accordance with internationally recognised principles of open access publishing.

Definition of Open Access

In line with widely accepted standards of open access, all published content is freely available to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to in full, without financial, legal, or technical barriers, subject to the terms of the applicable license.

Licensing

All articles published in Our Dermatology Online are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

Under this license, users are permitted to:

  • read and download the content free of charge;
  • share and distribute the material in any medium or format;
  • adapt, remix, and build upon the material;

provided that:

  • appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source;
  • a link to the license is provided;
  • any changes made are indicated;
  • the material is not used for commercial purposes.
Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their published work.

By submitting and publishing in the journal, authors grant the publisher the right of first publication and the right to distribute the work under the terms of the selected Creative Commons license.

Copyright and licensing terms are clearly stated and do not conflict with each other.

No Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Our Dermatology Online is a no-fee open access journal.

The journal does not charge authors for:

  • manuscript submission;
  • peer review;
  • editorial processing;
  • publication;
  • page charges;
  • colour figures;
  • supplementary materials.

There are no mandatory article processing charges (APCs) at any stage of the publication process.

No Embargo

All content is made openly available immediately upon publication.

The journal does not apply any embargo period to published articles.

No Hybrid Model

Our Dermatology Online does not operate a hybrid publishing model.

All published scholarly content is fully open access.

Reuse and Permissions

Users may reuse the content in accordance with the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

Any use beyond the scope of the license, particularly commercial use, requires permission from the copyright holder.

Where third-party material is included in an article, such material may be subject to separate licensing terms, which are indicated in the article.
