Our Dermatology Online

Our Dermatology Online does not charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) for the standard publication of accepted manuscripts.

There is no mandatory publication fee for authors whose manuscripts are accepted through the journal’s standard editorial and peer-review process.

1. Standard Publication

There is no APC for standard publication.

Authors are not required to pay a publication fee for:

• submission;
• initial editorial assessment;
• standard peer review;
• standard editorial processing;
• standard publication of an accepted article;
• online publication.

Acceptance of a manuscript is based on its scientific, clinical, editorial, and ethical merits and is not dependent on payment of a publication fee.

2. Fast-Track Processing

The journal offers an optional Fast-Track Processing service for authors who request accelerated editorial handling.

Fast-Track Processing is a paid optional service.

Important

Requesting or purchasing Fast-Track Processing:

• does not guarantee acceptance;
• does not influence the scientific or editorial decision;
• does not guarantee a particular peer-review outcome;
• does not replace peer review;
• does not change the journal’s editorial or ethical standards.

Manuscripts submitted for Fast-Track Processing remain subject to the journal’s normal editorial assessment and, where applicable, peer-review requirements.

The availability of Fast-Track Processing depends on the capacity of the editorial office.

3. Fast-Track Fee

The current Fast-Track Processing fee is:

115-300 Euro / 132-345 USD

The Fast-Track Processing fee is determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the author’s request and the journal’s current editorial capacity. The applicable fee will be agreed upon with the author before the service begins.

Authors should not send payment before receiving confirmation from the editorial office.

4. Technical Corrections

The journal may provide optional technical correction services at the author’s request.

These services may include, where available:

• correction of formatting;
• correction of typographical errors;
• adjustment of tables or figures;
• technical formatting of references;
• preparation or adjustment of files for publication;
• other technical corrections requested by the author.

Technical correction services are optional and are not required for standard publication.

The availability and scope of such services are determined by the editorial office.

5. Technical Correction Fee

Technical corrections requested by the author may be subject to a separate fee.

The applicable fee will depend on the scope and complexity of the requested work.

The author will be informed of the applicable fee before the work is undertaken.

No charge will be imposed without the author’s prior agreement.

6. No Payment for Editorial Decisions

Authors cannot purchase:

• acceptance;
• favourable peer review;
• a positive editorial decision;
• exemption from peer review;
• publication regardless of scientific quality.

Editorial decisions are independent of any optional paid service.

7. No Refund or Payment Conditions

Payment for an optional service does not constitute a guarantee of publication.

Where Fast-Track Processing has been requested and paid for, the service concerns accelerated editorial handling only and not the outcome of the editorial process.

Specific refund arrangements, where applicable, will be communicated by the editorial office before payment.

8. Waivers and Discounts

Because the journal does not charge a standard APC, authors do not need to apply for an APC waiver for ordinary publication.

Any discretionary fee reduction or waiver concerning an optional paid service is considered separately by the editorial office.

The journal is committed to transparent communication concerning publication-related charges.

Any optional fee will be communicated to the author before payment is requested.
